How to convert VCD DAT files to xivd or other formats.
For those interested in backing up your VCDs into xivd or something similar but keeps getting a out of sync audio track video file, you have come to the right place. After numerous trying and testing, i finally found the root cause of the problem. The issue arises when a DAT file copied directly from the VCDs are used directly for conversion. The end result is a out of sync output file. Whatever video container(example: mkv, xvid etc) that you choose to convert to will not resolve the out of sync output file. But if the DAT file is stripped of its “VCD” component, you will be able to get the correct mpeg-1(VCD) file that will convert correctly. Here’s how you can do it.
