Chinatown - Chinese New Year 2009

Went for a stroll down at Chinatown to snap some shots and to soak in the Chinese New Year (2009) atmosphere. Here are the shots, enjoy. :) 1 - Mountains of cookies. 2 - Fa Kau anyone? 3 - Playboy seeds??? 4 - Feeding time for the nut testers. 5 - How about a new bag ladies? 6 - Got any Bitter Gout? 7 - Mua Chee galore.. 8 - Golden OX or Bull? 9 - Inside The Buddha Tooth Relic Temple. 10 - Spotted this Big Bell inside the Temple. 11 - Time for some Yu Shen. For those into photography : All shots was taken with a Canon 40D with 17-85mm Lens, AV mode, RAW. Slight exposure adjustment was done to all the shots during post processing using Canon Digital Professional Software. No cropping done. Please do not leech any of the shots. Esplanade during 2009 Chinese New Year period.

Happened to go down to Esplanade during the Chinese New Year(2009) period to take some shots of the place before heading down to River Hong Bao. Don’t think they call them that anymore. Anyway, enjoy the picture..:) 1. Its Dinner Time. 2. Nice evening shot of the Esplanade Open Theater. 3. Esplanade with all the Marina building in the background. 4. Something interesting???? 5. Stock Trading involving a foreign currency.

I have created a simple spreadsheet to help you in calculating your stock purchase that is exposed to foreign exchange fluctuations,(e.g US shares) As you can see from the below example, even when you sell your shares when the share price has gone up, you have actually made a lost of $10 (we have not even added the trading fees yet). Even thou your local currency have strengthen against the foreign currency(which is a good thing), but that has impacted the "value" of your "foreign currency" which is those shares that you are holding. Although you do not have much control over the fluctuation of the foreign currency, whenever you are thinking of selling your US "assets" and converting it back to your local currency, do take note of the below example and calculate your gains(if there are any) before unloading your US "assets".
